Having worked with many families over the years, I understand how important it is to provide them with a lot of support and guidance when it comes to arranging a funeral. It is an incredibly emotional and difficult time, and my job is to help, support, and guide them so that together, we can create a wonderful funeral service for their loved one.
I take time and care to find out all about the person who has passed, what their passions in life were, and their life’s journey. Considering what the deceased would have wanted for their funeral and, of course, what the family wants is incredibly important.
We explore music, poetry, and readings while gathering tributes and messages from family and friends. I find that these additions give a personal touch to the service. During the service, I encourage family and friends to read their tributes or messages, or I am happy to read them on their behalf.
With gentle and appropriate questioning, I find out all about the person we have lost, taking time and care to learn about their life journey. From our conversations, I am able to write a personal eulogy. Some families prefer to write this themselves, and I am flexible and happy to assist people if they would like to do this.
I am happy to include any religious or spiritual elements into the service for you, and I have many ideas that would make the service special. I invite you to read through some of my reviews that demonstrate the time, care, and consideration I take when helping families during such a difficult time.
Funeral Service Fee's
“I travel outside of Sussex. I don’t charge any more for my time, but I do charge nominal travel expenses. I am happy to work with families directly or through their chosen funeral director. I am totally independent. I also carry out living funerals, celebrations of life outside of chapels and memorial services. Please contact me directly to discuss.”
We were so pleased to have been recommended to Laura to carry out my Mum’s funeral service. Laura was so thoughtful, patient and attentive & I knew from the start that we were in good hands, It was like talking to a friend.
Laura guided us through the planning of the service and choreographed the many tributes beautifully which was no easy task as so many family members wanted to contribute. On the day she ensured that everything ran smoothly at the crematorium so we could just concentrate on the celebration of my amazing Mum’s long life which made a difficult day more bearable. Our heartfelt thanks, Laura. Mum would have been so delighted with her send-off.
THE DOWNS CREMATORIUM, BRIGHTON
Laura was an incredible celebrant.
Her calm, thoughtful and sincere approach helped make the planning of my husbands funeral a little less painful . The unobtrusive support she gave before and during the funeral was very welcome and the service she delivered was respectful, dignified and everything we hoped it would be.
It’s a daunting task organising the perfect funeral. So I count myself lucky, to have found Laura to guide me through the process and advise me on all the necessary steps.
Everything was undertaken with precision and attention to detail, with nothing being too much trouble. She contacted my grandmother’s best friend of 75 years now in her late 90s to make sure every detail was correct and also found out some lovely memories of the adventures they got up to as youngsters, which made me smile.
Part of our family is slightly dysfunctional and Laura took the stress away by making contact and liaising with them.
I shall be singing her praises to anyone in need of the services she offers.
Thank you, Laura. X
